Dedicated to Development
The goal of our Weeble and Toddler programs is to provide a loving and caring atmosphere that provides a sense of safety and security to each and every toddler in order to promote individual development. Our loosely structured daily program consists of free play, circle time, themed projects/activities, outside play, large motor activities, and more. We attempt to provide enough structure to our day so that our toddlers find security in their routines while also allowing them to have autonomy. Simple rules are defined for a toddler's safety and enjoyment.
Our program allows children to interact with each other and choose where, what, and who to play with. Toddlers are encouraged to practice developing skills and are given various opportunities to do so. This is done through things like utilizing multiple tactile mediums, building with blocks, reading stories, singing nursery rhymes, naming colors, animals, parts of the body, people, and more. We allow our toddlers to make choices whenever possible and encourage developing skills. Your child will learn new things like social skills, language, small and large motor development, and more!
The Rooms
We are fortunate to have two toddler aged rooms and are usually able to keep a younger toddler room (Weeble Room) and an older toddler room (Toddler Room). Diapers are checked and changed regularly, and snacks, lunch, and nap are scheduled.
When applicable, we work on potty training by praising dryness and use of the bathroom. Each toddler is unique and therefore will develop at different speeds. Toddlers move from one toddler room to the next based on readiness, not age. In addition to abilities, personalities, and temperament, there are many considerations that we factor in when determining when a toddler will move on to the next room. We appreciate your input on this decision. However, please keep in mind that we spend up to 10 hours a day with your child and know how they function in a group setting. We try our best to move everyone at the right time.
