A New Soothing Space

Our program goal for our infant rooms is to provide a loving and caring atmosphere that provides a sense of safety and security to each and every infant in order to promote individual development. In the infant program, there is no structured schedule. Infants’ needs are met as they are demanded, which means that bottles, foods, naps, playtime, and diapers will be provided and addressed as needed. Our parents/guardians are responsible for providing formula or breast milk, food, snacks, diapers and wipes, and any other things your baby may need. We provide our infants the opportunities to self-feed, socialize, explore, play, and much more.

We strive to give our infants opportunities to interact with each other and adults at an age-appropriate level while encouraging social, emotional, and physical development. This is done through things like tummy time, being introduced to cause and effect, hearing praise, mimicking an infant's coos and sounds, naming colors, animals, parts of the body, people, and more. We provide a safe space for our babies to explore their environment and practice their developing skills.

The Rooms

We are fortunate to have two infant-aged rooms and are usually able to keep a younger baby room (Infant Room) and an older baby room (Waddler Room). Each baby is unique and therefore will develop at different speeds. Babies move from one infant room to the next based on readiness, not age. In addition to abilities, personalities, and temperament, there are many considerations that we factor in when determining when a baby will move on to the next room. We appreciate your input on this decision. However, please keep in mind that we spend up to 10 hours a day with your child and know how they function in a group setting. We try our best to move everyone at the right time.

Communication

Communication is the most important ingredient in a successful relationship. In the Infant and Waddler rooms, we have implemented a communication service through an app called DailyConnect. This app updates you in real time about what your child is doing here, such as when they have their diaper changed, take a nap, eat lunch or snacks, and more. If DailyConnect isn’t updated in a timely manner, it may be due to connection issues. But rest assured, your baby’s needs are being met.

Please keep us in the loop about events that may have an effect on your baby’s day. We know how difficult it can be to be a working parent. Many of us have children of our own that we miss during the day. It makes us feel better to know how our children are doing. You are more than welcome to call us during the day. If you have any questions at all, please ask. We are here for you and your baby.

What to Bring for Your Baby’s Needs

Bedding - Each baby will have their own individual crib. We ask that you provide a crib sheet and blanket for your baby's crib; each Friday the sheets and blankets are sent home to be washed and new ones are brought in by parents/guardians on Monday. You are welcome to provide bumpers, mobiles, etc. for your baby, but please, no fluffy, comforter-type blankets.

Bibs and Burp Cloths - Please send in bibs and burp cloths if you would like for your baby to wear one.

Diapers and Wipes - Please keep an ample supply of diapers and wipes here at A Magic Kingdom. If you have any powders, lotions, or ointments that you wish to send in as well, that is welcomed with a signed note from you. We will send home reminders in advance when your supply here is running low.

Bottles and Cups - We are happy to accommodate breastfeeding parents. Please feel free to talk to us about what works best for you and your baby. Formulas must be sent in premade, and you will be required to sign a form stating what kind of formula your baby uses. Cups and bottles will be sent home daily to be washed and returned.

Meals and Snacks - We do not provide meals or snacks in our Infant and Waddler programs, (snacks are provided in the older rooms). Therefore, parents/guardians are required to send in meals and snacks for their baby. Many parents/guardians choose to “stockpile” snacks for their baby in their cubby; this works well and allows you to see when your baby is running low. Food should be pre-cut into appropriately sized pieces for your baby to handle. If you need helpful ideas for meals and snacks, please feel free to ask!

Clothing - Please be sure to keep a few extra outfits at A Magic Kingdom for your baby. Remember that babies grow, accidents happen, and they can be messy. We also ask you to keep in mind the changing seasons and weather and change your baby’s spare clothing accordingly.

Schedules - All of our babies are unique, and to accommodate this, we provide care on a personalized basis.
